Sunrise Seven

First, thanks for your concern yesterday about my dog. We all seem to be back to normal today. Since I don't have kids, those dogs are like my kids and they pretty much mean everything to me. I hate when there is a problem and I don't know what it is.

Anyway, the other week, I was complaining about how hot it was and I that I just couldn't handle the afternoon heat. Well, I recently had the opportunity to adjust my work schedule slightly which will allow me some mornings to run!

This morning was the first and I ventured out early to get in seven miles and watched the sun rise during my run. It felt great and knowing that my run is already finished for the day feels awesome! I could get used to this...

  1. Even though I am not a huge morning person, I do like the feeling of getting my run in before work. I have only done my 3 milers in the morning but will prob start doing my longer Wed run in the morning as well pretty soon.

  2. Sooooo glad to hear your dog is feeling better! I know what you mean--I don't have kids either, so my three critters are my babies.

  3. Good to hear your dog is ok - they are so dependent on us. Also did 7 miles this morning, nice to have it in the bag!

  4. wow, I struggle getting on board with AM runs. We consistently have 100 degree heat so I am going to have to try harder. Glad your pup is ok.

  5. Not much of a morning runner. However, I have to go get one in this morning because I'm working until 10 pm! Guess I should get moving!!!

  6. There's something magical about those early morning runs, when the sun is just rising and everyone else is asleep. I should follow your lead... these 90 degree noon runs aren't cutting it for me!

  10. I am so glad to hear your dogs are okay. My dogs are my kids as well. Our little beagle mix DREADS fireworks. On the 4th, I couldn't get her to step outside at all! I felt so bad for the little girl! Running at sunrise is my favorite too. I think I will schedule my long run this weekend to coincide with it!

I just LOVE running in the morning! Sometimes it can be hard to get yourself out of bed, but it's ALWAYS worth it in the end :)

  13. Glad your pup is ok! To me they are harder than humans cause they can't just tell you what's ailing them.

I love running in the morning. I feel so acomplished when I get to work and i am more alert all day then if I hadn't. Getting to watch the sunrise/run a few miles in some daylight (in the summer) is nice too.
