2. I got new shoes! I currently rotate two pairs but only use the one pair for long runs. Although they still have some miles left to them, I know they won't last too much longer. Not wanting to experiment, I wanted to get the exact same model. I was hoping to find an excellent deal on them since they are an old model and while I found them at a discount, I couldn't get the deepest discount due to the size I needed. But, I ordered them Tuesday afternoon, elected free shipping and they arrived Wednesday. What? I was shocked. I'll start throwing them into the mix soon.

3. Our new sofa arrived yesterday. The whole reason for getting this - so dual naps could take place. Yes - forego the magazine perfect room and throw a huge sectional sofa in it so both my husband and I could take a nap at the same time. Do you know how bad it sucks when one person is napping away on Sunday afternoon and you are sitting in an uncomfortable chair? You can bet I'll be napping on this baby this weekend.

There is nothing wrong with your DNF...I too am super paranoid about getting hurt before the marathon...the most important thing we can do is listen to our bodies! Snazzy new couch...looks super comfy!
ReplyDeleteYou listened to your body well!
ReplyDeleteI love new shoes! Its like running on a springy mattress for the first few runs :)
Your new sofa looks really comfortable!! it's nice that you'll both be able to nap on it together :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's best to listen to your body. :) So don't beat yourself up too much for cutting that run short. I skipped my 8 miler last Saturday because I was exhausted. So I did 36 miles instead of 44. But I think it was a good decision...
ReplyDeleteLove the new sofa!! I really need a new couch as my love seat is on it's last leg... But I love my chair, which is still in good condition... So I dont' know what to do as the manufacturer has discontinued this line... :( So I probably just need to suck it up and get a new couch & chair... and maybe store my chair for now... who knows...
ever hear of a bed to take naps? just sayin...
ReplyDeletejealous of the new sofa.....LOVE the shoes. Saucony is my go too
ReplyDeletecongrats on listening to your body! Be proud of that!
ReplyDeleteLove the new sofa! I want to nap, too!! :-)
I love a sofa made for napping. My kind of household. Nice new sneaks. Love the little pink on the sole.
ReplyDeletelove the couch. love the shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteabbi, listen to ur body. when it needs a rest, it will tell you! take a break. take a nap! lol
That sectional looks mighty comfy! I love the idea of a couch that allows for dual naps. That is great.
ReplyDeleteYou listened to your body, and that is what matters. Many of us would just run out of stubborness. It is good that you stopped. Kudos, Abbi!
love your sofa. you will need it for rests after your long run:)
ReplyDeleteThat is a hilarious reason to buy a couch but probably the best I've ever heard!
ReplyDeleteHaha on the napping. I guess I take it to extreme levels by actually napping in bed! :) Too bad about the DNF but hooray for new shoes! I need to get some new pairs myself... I use to buy 3 at a time! I've since gotten cheaper and only rotate two pairs now.
ReplyDeleteDude. I have that same sofa, just in brown. Most comfortable thing ever!
ReplyDeleteI love your living room. I thinkt hat is a perfect reason for such a couch.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't push yourself too hard. ::hugs::
ReplyDeleteLove the double napping action!
that's funny how fast you got the shoes...and I love your rationale about the couch : )
ReplyDeletegood job listening to your body and cutting back!
LOVE your new sofa!! As soon as we move out of the shoebox we currently live in I want to get a sectional! They are so nice!
ReplyDeleteI. Want. That. Couch.
ReplyDeleteLove the sofa! There is nothing in world quite like napping on the sofa, especially after a long run. Very wise to listen to your body and not getting injured.
ReplyDeleteThat couch is great! My husband would LOVE one like that. Actually, I know that when we get a house a couch like that and a recliner chair will be on his list! Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWatch out for those couches! They'll suck you in like quick sand!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, can you count a virtual race as a DNF? I think your non-DNF streak is still in tact.
