Yesterday, I was finishing up a 5 mile run and had my running partner with me. She decided to trip me about 50 yards from the house. It resulted in a full out splat on the pavement. Luckily, since it was cold out, I was fairly bundled up so just have bruised up knees as a result. But, pavement hurts in case you didn't know.
The WTF? look on the dog's face as I tried to get my self upright again was priceless. Like she was trying to say "You're the one that makes me run so damn close to your side, not my fault if you trip over me."
Earlier in the week, I made some veggie burgers for dinner. I thought they were decent but other household members disagreed. Said granola burgers are not to make any more appearances. Not sure why I suck so bad at healthy, vegetarian meals. Most of my eggplant dishes have also been banned. Hopefully I'll get some winners out of this weekend's cooking batch!

The pup is so darn cute! Too bad she's mean. ; )
ReplyDeleteYeah, my vegetarian dishes are not always hits around here. But keep trying!
Pavement does hurt. I tripped many times running, although mostly over my own feet :) My husband doesn't like anything I cook, so I gave up. I like veggie burgers!
ReplyDeleteOuch! And I can totally picture that reaction from your dog. Ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteWe just tried a really good vegetarian burger mix if you want the product link! :)
Gah! Dogs can be such jerks when it comes to tripping their people and they're all like, "wha? It was your fault." Bailey has tripped me going down the stairs first thing in the morning more than once. Glad you didn't suffer too much damage!
ReplyDeleteBoy, have I been there. LOL Harley is world's worst about tripping me up.
ReplyDeleteMy husband won't touch any of my vegetarian concoctions with a 10-foot pole. I don't get it. THEY'RE DELICIOUS! lol I think he's afraid his cholesterol might go down a point or two if he eats it...
I try to throw some vegetarian creation once a week. Everyone acts like I am trying to poison them. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is so cute....I love the "you look like your crazy" look that she has right now.
Ouch! I'm glad it was only bruises!
ReplyDeleteAs for eggplant... do you salt the eggplant and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before cooking? That is KEY. Otherwise it can be bitter...
(And keep trying anyway. Vegetables are DELICIOUS. Some people just take longer to learn that fact.) ;)
Ouch!! I am glad it's only bruises. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteWhoa.....what a cutie! My cats are determined to take me out when I head down the stairs..and I am the clutziest person on the planet.
ReplyDeleteI tend to give the hubs a heads up as to what I am making and what his options are if he doesn't like it.
Aww that's an adorable pup. Yeah my black bean burgers didn't go over well with my hubs either... whiners.
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't get injured too badly! I love veggie burgers!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky. I've been hurt badly on pavement before. I'm allergic to eggplant. If I eat it my throat swells on the inside and I can't breath at all. Very scary!
ReplyDeleteMy dog tripped me once when I was pregnant and I just about skinned her alive. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, too cute. Cute photo, too!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks for your sweet comment on my marathon post :)
ReplyDeleteHaha before I realized that your "running partner" was a dog for your 5 mile run, I was thinking, wow, she's super unlucky to have such a jerk as a running partner. But in fact, you are so lucky to have such a cutie pie dog to run with! I've always toyed with the idea of getting a weimaraner dog, they're supposed to be great running buddies-- although a little on the neurotic side, which actually may just work well with me haha.
