Inside the big box...a bunch of Gladware! Sorry to disappoint. I couldn't find the OvenWare at any stores (OK, I only looked at two but I hate shopping) and figured it was just cheaper to order online anyway. I only have a few and can't remember where I got them from in the first place. They kind of come in large quantities when you order this way...
You may notice there's a new button on the right side of the blog. I'm sure the 10 people who read this blog look over frequently. If you don't want to click off your reader to load the page, I'll just tell you what it is...
The new button goes to the Once a Month Mom website. At the top, it says contributor. I raved about this site awhile back. It's freezer cooking and once a month cooking organization on crack. I pretty much love it. Love it so much that when the were taking applicants for new contributors, I applied. Loved it so much that my over the top application landed me a spot. I'm not a Mom and I'm not on a diet but starting with the April menu, and posts beginning in March, I'm the new contributor for the Diet (basically healthy/lower calorie/fat, not diet in a bad way) menu at Once a Month Mom. There's an insane amount of planning that goes into it so even though I won't be visible for awhile, I'm already working away.
Running updates are rather boring these days unless a race is involved. My life isn't really very interesting either but I might be experimenting a bit more in the kitchen while keeping my freezer fully stocked for stress-free, easy and healthy (sometimes) weeknight meals...so, it seems like a good plan to attempt a Friday Food post. I found a few from the past to post. Now that I'm stocked up on my favorite containers that stack well in the freezer, are reusable and can go in the oven, I'm ready to go.
I'm already getting back into the swing of things with regards to taking pictures of food. My husband will have to sit through me stealing his dinner plate to take a picture before he starts eating again (his always looks better than mine for some reason). He had to put up with it for a year when I did a cookbook for the family so he is used to it. I promise there won't be posts on here every single day showing the oatmeal and apple that I ate though.

Congrats! That's exciting! We just recently discovered Once a Month Mom and my hubs is eager to try mass producing meals. Can't wait to read your contributions! :) I need to get that Ovenware! I've never seen it in the store!
ReplyDeleteThat is some serious Ovenware!!! I would love to get going with freezer cooking! I can just follow your lead!
ReplyDeleteVery cool website and a neat opportunity for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool website! I had not heard of it. I am going to add it to my reader.
ReplyDeleteMy first question was going to be why you had so many containers. We have a lot too (we make a ton of food and put leftovers in the fridge, not freezer), but now I understand :)
Ha! I love that you love that web site and are now a contributor even though you aren't a mom! It sounds like a great opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI think that's an awesome idea! I'm going to add it to my reader. And honestly, I'd be pumped for a delivery of Gladware. I love that stuff!
ReplyDeleteI got a box earlier this week from Amazon and couldn't remember what I'd ordered. I opened it up and...dryer sheets. It was way cheaper to order them from Amazon. I mean, it smelled good, but was so not an exciting package.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pay to have someone come to my house and stock my freezer with a month of meals. :)
ReplyDeleteMass meals is something I ought to get into... There's a job idea for someone. Personal mass-meal maker. I'm lazy :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to plan out something like this planning meals and all. I would imagine it takes some kind of diligence though. I bet the cost benifits are awesome!!! Thanks for the last sentence on your post. I have seen many of running blogs turn into what I eat every day blogs. It's like WTH? Take care.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you are going to be a contributor! I have been gone alot in January and then was recovering from surgery. I need to get back on track with cooking, etc!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I'm going to go check this site out right away. You'll be a great contributer :) and awww why no posts of what you ate :P ahahaha
ReplyDeletelove it!
and that is A LOT of glad tupperware haha
Holy crap that's a lot of Gladware! Online is definitely the way to do it though. I'm totally with you on that. And I suppose I'm intrigued enough about this one month meal planning business to check out that site. I'm curious to hear about what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteA family cookbook .... what an awesome idea :-)
ReplyDeleteNew follower here by the way, looking forwards to getting to read more.
That is the coolest! Congrats! I know I've seen some good eats on here before, I'm off to check out the site!
ReplyDeleteWho is that refined "gentleman" near the box in the first picture? I think he likes to taste that meal.
