The North Face Endurance Challenge - Washington, D.C. {Giveaway}

Want to run one of the events of The North Face Endurance Challenge - Washington, D.C.?  I mentioned the race a few weeks ago in this blog post here.

The events will be held during the weekend of June 2-3, 2012.  There are trail races of 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, 50K and 50 miles.

Events of marathon and longer are on Saturday, June 2nd and the shorter races will be held on Sunday, June 3rd.

You can register for the events here.
Click Here to Register for The North Face Endurance Challenge

But, lucky for one of you, I cannot go (though I wish I could!).  So, I have a single entry into one of the events.  The entry is good for any of the events, provided there are still spots available in that event at the time of registration.

If you are able to get yourself to the starting line in Sterling, VA at Algonkian Regional Park on June 2nd or 3rd and interested in one of the events, enter!

To enter the giveaway, leave a separate comment for each entry.

1.  Mandatory: Which event of The North Face Endurance D.C. will you run and why?
2.  Optional:  'Like' The North Face Endurance Challenge on Facebook.

Feel free to follow this blog or like it on Facebook but no additional entries for either of those.  Entries accepted through 11:59 PM EDT April 14th, 2012.  Winner will be chosen via random number generator and will posted here on Sunday, April 15th.  Please make sure your comment is linked to your e-mail/blog/or other identifiable information so I can contact the winner.  If I cannot contact the winner within 3 days, a new winner will be chosen.

*Disclosure:  The North Face Endurance Challenge provided me with one free entry into the event, either for myself or to giveaway in exchange for promoting their event.  All opinions are my own.

  1. I will run the 10k! Too bad you can't make it.

  2. Depending on how well I bounce back from a race in May, I might try the 50-miler. Why? ... I'm planning to try one this year, so why wait?

  5. Oh my goodness! I have seriously been debating signing up for this race since January. I am from upstate NY so it would be a long drive, but we have a few friends in DC and this would be an awesome excuse to visit them. I debated back and forth about signing up for the 50K, which would be my first ultra, but I had a minor brush with injury several weeks ago that was nothing serious but scared me into backing off my mileage and I kind of gave up the dream.

Deep down I want to do the 50K (you have inspired me so much since the "Distance Dreamer" days when I couldn't run a 5K), but it's a big goal and it scares me. I think this would be the push I need to push my limits past my comfort zone. Also April 14 is my 24th birthday and I kind of think this is a sign from the running heavens that I am meant to do this race!

I don't have a Facebook account so I can't 'like' the race series, but I do like them in my heart if that counts.

  6. I did the 50K last year, but this year I would do the 10K or 5K because of my delicate condition. :)

  7. I would do the half marathon since I have a 150 mile bike ride (MS ride DC) the following weekend. However, I do want to try the ultra one of these years..

  9. I'm planning on running the 50 mile this year. It was my first ultra two years ago and I absolutely loved it and have been itching to return!

  10. I would run the 50 miler, this would be my first 50 and qualify me for the Grindstone 100 in October. Currently running the Lynchburg Ultra Series, but have dreams of completing the Beast series!

  13. 50K. It's an addictive distance. (I need to log more miles/experience before tackling the 50 miler!)

  14. I would run the 50 Mile to help prepare me for the Pinhoti 100.

  15. I'm planning on running my first 50 miler! After four 50ks under my belt, I'm looking to run farther than I ever have and explore the fun in uncharted territory. I'll also be representing Virginia Tech Trail and Ultrarunning Club, which a couple of friends and I have just formed!

  17. I'd run the 13.1, because I'd get to check another location off of my running-a-half-in-every-state (and DC) list. :)

  20. I'm sorry you can't go. That's a bummer and a half. :(

I would do the half marathon only because I haven't done the training to go farther....yet.

  21. I'd run the marathon, now that the half is sold out:)

  22. I would love to do the 50M. I am doing the Bear Mountain 50 in May and it would be cool to do 2 in one month
