Hello Fall

The fall-like temperatures are spoiling me this week.  I'm loving it and feeling a little better about this whole running thing.

On Monday, I broke out a Yoga DVD.  My hip still felt a bit tender from Saturday's long run so I wanted to take it easy and thought good stretching would help.  It seemed to help.  I am not a yoga person at all and am really quite terrible at stretching and sometimes it seems to catch up with me.

On Tuesday, it was another double day.  A morning run with my dogs and then an evening run with one of the shelter dogs, Cinnamon.  I'm calling my run with Cinnamon speedwork.  She can run and we got in 4 miles together.  I don't wear a watch when I run with the dogs so I have no idea if we were running fast or not but I was definitely working harder than usual.

The rest of the week has been normal running around the neighborhood but my 'easy' pace seems to be a little quicker than it's been in those humid days from the past several weeks.

  1. I love fall weather too - so happy to finally have it show up around here! I just started doing yoga consistently once a week and I'm finding it really helps. Hope your hip behaves!

  2. What kind of dog is Cinnamon? She is beautiful! Every time I read your blog now I want to adopt ALL the dogs :)

  3. I think Cinnamon has an unfair advantage with those long legs! ; )

  4. That is great that your easy pace is feeling easier these days. The lack of humidity really does help. I am loving these cooler temps, too. I had my first run back since I was taken out by bronchitis and it was a HARD run. :( I struggled to keep my pace below a 10 min pace, which is very slow for me. :( I hope I bounce back soon.

  5. I am currently loving the weather here. I hope it lasts for a few more weeks - though I wouldn't surprised if we have snow soon. Cinnamon looks like an awesome speedwork partner.

  6. Of course she is fast! Look at how long her legs are! Plus, she's got 4 of them. Unfair advantage. :D
The fall weather has been glorious!

  8. Confession - cinnamon was my stripper name when I worked at starbucks so I giggle a little every time I see it. Good running weather makes everything better!

  9. This weather is awesome, love it! Let's hope it stays around for a little, before the cold and dark winter months roll around.

  10. Sorry I'm super duper late to comment on this, just wanted to say I hope your hip continues to feel better! I'm not much of a yoga person either- I keep meaning to include it, but it rarely happens!
