Meanwhile, I've been keeping busy with plenty of other things, mostly related to work. I also have a few products that deserve a bit of a highlight. This blog is primarily for my own entertainment so product reviews do not occur too frequently...unless it is something I think I would actually like or buy.
First up, socks. Gold Toe contacted me and provided a package of their Sport Liner. They've become my go-to everyday socks, walk the dog socks, etc. The fit and style is not what I like for running but for everything else, they are great quality sock!
Nairn's products also sent some cookies try. A company that makes oat crackers and cookies. Sounds like my type of company.
Well, they are Stem Ginger and Mixed Berry Oat Biscuits under the UK name but they are cookies under the US name and they are good! Really good, particularly the Stem Ginger but I tend to love all kinds of ginger type cookies. In fact, they might be a little too good because I cannot leave them alone. They are on the healthier/whole foods side but they are still cookies after all! Maybe if we called them biscuits it wouldn't seem as much like a cookie. ;)
I would like to try their Oat Crackers but have never seen the products in a store. After checking the US site, it does not appear I have any local places that carry them so ordering online would be the only option which in all honesty probably won't happen but maybe I will at some point.
Thanks to both Gold Toe and Nairn's.
Disclosure: Both companies sent me products to try in exchange for a review, all opinions are my own.

Wow cookies sound so much better than "oat biscuits"! I know what I am thinking about JFK: "HOLY SH!T I AM ABOUT TO RUN HOW MANY MILES????"
ReplyDeleteYou are the second person who has mentioned these cookies--they sound amazing! Glad you are feeling better--fingers crossed for a good JFK!
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time this week I've heard about those oat crackers, I really want to try them! Glad you're starting to get some miles in and feeling okay.
ReplyDeleteYou crazy 50-miler people. Gold Toe socks are the brand my mom always bought us when we were growing up. Is it possible for socks to "bring back old memories"? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! A girl in my long run group just did her first 50 miler last weekend and LOVED it.
ReplyDeleteMy boys all live in those gold toe socks. Love them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy JFK. I'm sure you will be done before I am in from Stone Mill. My body is telling me that I might need to spend the upcoming week resting a whoooooole lot more than I am used to or I might be in for 10 hours of pain. Praying that we have blesssed weather and determined minds next weekend!
LOL I love your socks. I have actually heard great things about them, but never tried them. I am BEYOND excited about your 50 miler!!!!! I think that was the first 50miler race I had ever heard of when Kara ran it

ReplyDeleteHey! Just stopping in to say WOW at 50 miles, and BEST OF LUCK!
ReplyDeleteCookies vs. Oat Biscuits. It's all about the marketing. HA! I can't wait to hear all the race reports from JFK!
ReplyDeleteFinal week before JFK! :) I see good weather on the forecast and it should be a great day for some running. I wish I could be out there with you all this year!
ReplyDeleteHappy race week! You are such a stronger runner, I know you will persevere during this race! Can't wait to hear all about the big race.
