November was about JFK 50 mile - getting excited for it, running it and then recovering from it.
This week brought back running with dogs, both mine and one of my favorite adoptables. Today, I spent my time with Cinnamon, my newest favorite who gives me the saddest eyes if I don't have her in the plan of dogs to take. Kills me to see her sitting there watching me as we're getting the others out of the kennels. So far, I've been the only one running with her, she's incredibly strong and can be a bit stand-offish and intimidating to other people. Fortunately, she seems to be getting much, much better and was great with all the people in our group of runners today.

Although, I have to admit, I do have at least one goal for the month of December. I'm a bit lost without a particular goal. I lasted two weeks without any goals but as I was tallying up November, I decided how I should close out the year.
So, for December, the goal is to run 130 miles, whenever or however I feel like it to end 2012 with 2012 miles.

Oh I love it 2012 in 2012! Great running!
ReplyDeleteI like the 2012 in 2012 concept! You had a great month! Cinnamon looks like a big sweetheart!
ReplyDelete130 miles is totally doable! That's just 2 and 3/5 JFKs Spread out over several more days :)
ReplyDeleteI've never done a mileage goal for a month but I like it! I'm also feeling lost without a race to train for and that may help.
ReplyDeleteHave I already told you that Cinnamon is my stripper name?
Best stripper name I've ever heard.
DeleteThat is a great goal! Cinnamon is a doll!
ReplyDeleteCinnamon is beautiful! I hope she finds. Home soon. You had an amazing month! I'm sure you'll reach your 2012 goal. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Your mileage for the year is going to be incredible, Abbi!
ReplyDeleteCinnamon is so cute! I'm glad to read that she is becoming a more sociable runner.
WOW!!! that's crazy milage. I pretty much sucked this year. I hope to break 1000 for next year's goal. I think ending with 2012 in 2012 is AMAZING! and the fact that you completed JFK is AWESOME! you're my hero :)
ReplyDeleteCinnamon is such a pretty dog! I'm glad you take her out for runs :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I would imagine the 50 miler consumed your month! That laid back running is some of my favorite, especially in between races. I'm looking forward to relaxed running after the marathon!
ReplyDeletegoodness! 130 miles after saying no plan. Always amazed at your mileage. What a sweet dog too.
ReplyDelete130 miles! Wow! That is STILL a lot of miles! :) I will be happy with 60-80, I think. I have a groupon for a gym membership so I might do more classes this month. I would like to get back to doing long runs on the weekends, though, so my mileage *should* be higher than it was last month!!
ReplyDelete2012 miles for 2012 is AWESOME! I keep wanting to get to 1,000 miles in a year but I've been around 800-900 the last couple of years. Maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed. I love reading blogs by your ultra folks because it totally motivates me to do better. I like knowing that I still have so far to go with my own running. Keep up the good work, and keep enjoying every moment of it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the 2012 goal! I may steal it for next year.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could run with dogs but I have the most sensitive knees ever and they bother me when running with dogs. Even when they aren't even pulling :(
I like your mileage goal! And you are so right, the best miles are the ones that are not on a schedule or timed.
ReplyDelete2012 miles - WOW!!!
ReplyDelete2012--AMAZING!! The dog looks so sweet. I hate it when they put a guilt trip on you. That expression "puppy dog eyes" didn't come from nowhere! :)
ReplyDelete2012 miles in 2012 is a great idea! I would have to run something around 400 miles this month in order to make that goal! It's so nice when you don't have a goal and you can just run for the sake of running! Enjoy it; you will have a goal soon enough!
