Last Saturday, it was a great fall day for the 3rd annual Peace 4 Paws 5K. It was my third year running it with Hannah. Many people who follow this blog will know this is also the event that allowed Miles & Mutts to eventually start. It was my 2nd year involved in the organization of the event and look forward to try to keep it growing (even if I was complaining about how hard it was to try to get people there for the few weeks leading up to it).
On behalf of Miles & Mutts supporters, we were able to donate $1400 to the shelter.
Hannah acted a bit crazy at the start but eventually settled into line with me, making 5Ks with her the only 5Ks I enjoy! I'll ignore the fact that I was a little shocked I was this slow...seems you get slower when you don't 'train'. Also, when you realize the first female with a dog was super fast, there really was no reason to push it at all at after the half-way point, especially since that would be really weird for a race you help organize.
Finally, my fame continues. A big thank you to the Chambersburg Road Runners Club and Kristen for featuring Miles & Mutts in the latest newsletter.
